Earth speeds up

Climate change can also affect the Earth’s spin. Previously, Felix Landerer of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. and colleagues showed that global warming would cause Earth’s mass to be redistributed towards higher latitudes. Since that pulls mass closer to the planet’s spin axis, it causes the planet to rotate faster – just as an ice skater spins faster when she pulls her arms towards her body.

Earth slows down

Belgian scientists have identified a hitherto unsuspected benefit of global warming – more time for all of us. They say increasing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere will slow the Earth’s rotation. They used computer models to analyse the effect of adding 1% more CO2 to the atmosphere annually.

    L’article de 2009 est une etude oceanographique.

    L’article de 2002 prend davantage de facteurs en compte. Il explique egalement que plusieurs phenomenes ont des consequences opposees. Par exemple leur conclusion:
    « the effect is mostly associated with an increase of the wind term of the axial atmospheric angular momentum (AAM), compensated for about one third by the inverted barometer matter term.  »

    C’est vrai que si on ne prend pas la peine de creuser, on peut y voir une contradiction.

      Les deux études sont n’importe quoi. Des études qui ne sont que produite que pour profiter des généreux fonds de recherches. Ils utilisent des « computer models ». N’oublions pas que tous les modèles informatiques utilisés pour prédire le réchauffement climatique se sont tous trompés, sans exception.

      « Global Warming », 0.7 degré en 100 ans ne peut pas être responsable des variations dans la vitesse de la terre. Si c’était le cas, elle passerait sont temps à changer de vitesse puisque les variations du climat sont continuelles depuis des centaines de millions d’années
